HBO MAX @ SUNDANCE
2021 VIRTUAL

2Continuing HBO/WarnerMedia’s commitment to multicultural storytelling, creators and audiences, Our Stories to Tell, presented by HBO Max, returned to our presence at Sundance Film Festival with a 360 campaign & robust virtual experience from Thursday, January 28 through Sunday, January 31, 2021. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, the Sundance Film Festival went fully virtual for 2021. This presented a unique opportunity, as the notably exclusive event became a democratic virtual opportunity.

To address the opportunity, we collaborated with our agency partners to reinforce “Our Stories To Tell” - at the time, our team’s all-audience vehicle - as a space for creators, thought leaders and storytellers via interactive programming that empowered diverse voices and the creatives that bring the network’s award-winning, diverse programming to life.

To do this virtually, we created a custom microsite ourstoriestotell.com. This microsite was home to 31 virtual events within a three-day span, featuring panel conversations, masterclasses, performances, breakout sessions, mentoring opportunities and much more. This breath of programming fostered organic engagement for the African American, Asian Pacific American, LGBTQ+ and Latinx audiences from the feautured talent, vendors, agency and audience lens.

Ahead of the virtual experience kickoff, a total of 150 Our Stories To Tell seeding kits were produced for celebrities, influencers, moderators and HBO talent, as well as the Here’s To Us kickoff event kits created in partnership with Red Bull.

*Here’s To Us is an annual, intimate event that OSTT produces to celebrate the creative community from our audiences.

The experience also featured a virtual, LIVE performance from Jazmine Sullivan and her live band.

  • 31+ virtual events in 3 days

  • 12MM+ social impressions

  • 57K+ social engagements

  • 250+ social posts
